GALLERY 1-THE FIRST GIGS:
1965-1968 |

Kevin Clemens & JR, 1965 |
| |
This was my second gig in 1965 when I was 10 years old. Kevin Clemens is my bandmate at age 9. The first gig, Kevin and I opened up for a high school rock band on a flat bed trailer.
Who needs a bass player!

1966-1967 |
| |
We added a bass player, Mark Davis, to the group. Kevin has his Gibson 355 and Mark’s playing
a Mosrite bass. I finally upgraded from the 1940 single-tension Ludwig w/ calves to a 1966 Champagne sparkle Ludwig kit. I think every drummer had a similar drumset growing up. |

The Talent Show |
| |
| In the summer of 1966 we entered the summer talent show at McKinley Park in Creston, Iowa. We played, "Walk Don’t Run" and "Boys". WE WON! Notice--2 guitars, no bass! |

1969-1970 |
| |
| We added two more players. Notice the change to a Fender bass and a Gibson 335. Dig the Farfisa! Also, OUCH--the band name! |
